ABOUT EUTCO

Eutco is the first Tea grower to be granted with the Tea Blending & Packaging Licence. The project implementation has commenced and expected to start retail sales by January 2021.

MARKETING SHIFT

6 years ago, almost 95% of teas from the company were sold at the Mombasa tea auctions. The company has made efforts to improve price realisation by diversifying the customer base. Currently, the company has direct exports of 40% to various countries, local sales of 45% getting higher prices and the balance goes to the auctions thereby saving on transport, warehousing and brokerage.

MANUFACTURE AND INFRASTRUCTURE

Manpower

→ Over 800 permanent staff and 1000 seasonal workers employed in the fields and factories.

Housing and Welfare

→ 1200 worker houses in 12 camps, 36 Management accommodation, 2 hospitals, 5 dispensaries, 8 creches and 8 welfare centres.

Divisions

→ The company is divided into 8 divisions for efficient controls, namely Kwamkoro, Ngua, Ndola, Monga, Maramba, Ngambo, Derema & Bulwa.

Factories

→ Kwamkoro & Bulwa. Both factories together have the capacity to process 125,000 kgs of green leaf per day.

→ Special Blends as per buyers requirements
→ Sold as straight grades packed in Paper sacks or PP bags
